A Calgary man is facing a long list of charges after an investigation into an incident involving two stolen vehicles and collisions.

27 year of Paul Belanger was arrested and charged on Tuesday, Sept. 13 following a police pursuit through Cochrane, and Canmore.

A Calgary male was arrested and charged on September 13th, after he hit a police vehicle trying to flee from the RCMP after a pursuit through Cochrane, and Canmore.

Belanger was charged with the following offences out of Cochrane:

  • Criminal Code 249.1(1) – Flight from Police Officer X2
  • Criminal Code 344(1)(b) – Robbery
  • Criminal Code 252 – Failing to Stop at the Scene of an Accident X3
  • Criminal Code 88(1) – Possession of Weapon
  • Criminal Code 354 – Possession of Stolen Property

Belanger faces additional charges out of Canmore for:

  • Criminal Code 249.1(1) - Flight from Police Officer X4
  • Criminal Code 355 – Possession of Stolen Property over $5000 X5
  • Criminal Code 270.01(1)(a) – Assault Peace Officer
  • Criminal Code 252 – Failing to Stop at the Scene of an Accident

Belanger had an appearance in court on Sept. 15 and is currently still in custody.  His next appearance will be in Cochrane Provincial Court on September 20th 2016.
