Jensen's Ranch Mudapolooza is back and gearing up for a weekend full of big trucks, mud, and family fun.

Held on the Jensen family ranche just northwest of Cochrane, Mudapolooza is a two-day mud racing event that features numerous obstacles to test the extreme rigs trying to conquer the course.

"I took about 10 acres out of our ranche and made an extreme off-road obstacle course with hills and log traps and mud and all sorts of stuff" explains organizer Cody Jensen. "Trucks compete for a chance to race in Mountain Havoc in Idaho. It's a qualifying race for down there."

Taking place on both Saturday and Sunday this weekend, Jensen says there is something for everyone. "You're sitting in the field right beside the action, like in some of the places you're 20 feet from the action. Bring your lawn chairs, bring your family, kids love it, dads love it."

After a smaller event last year due to the pandemic, Mudapoolza is set to feature more than 26 participants this year, a new record for the event.

Trucks can compete in two classes. "There's a small tire class, which is a measured 44-inch tire, and smaller. Then there's the unlimited class, in which you can run whatever you want, 60-inch tractor tires, 1000 horsepower, whatever."

"There's lots of safety involved in this to keep everybody safe so every truck needs to pass the tech to compete."

The festivities kick off this evening with spectators encouraged to come to the ranche and camp starting tonight. For more information and to purchase weekend passes, go here.
