Cochrane residents are being warned to brace themselves for a multi-day snow event starting Tuesday evening. 

Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement for the region warning that cooler temperatures and snow is on the way tomorrow. 

"Snowfall amounts will vary greatly between the mountainous regions and areas to the east. Snowfall totals: For areas along the foothills and in the mountain parks: 10 to 30 cm. For areas east of Highway 2: 5 to 10 cm." stated the weather agency. 

The snowfall will begin tomorrow night in the northern foothills then move southward. 

Snow is expected to continue on Wednesday and head east towards Saskatchewan on Thursday. 

The snowfall is expected to end by Friday.
