Over 100 dogs and their owners flooded Cochrane pathways on June 4, for the 15 Annual Cochrane and Area Humane Society's Mutt Strut.

The event raised just over $28,000, Jaimie Anton, Fund Development Officer with the Cochrane and Area Humane Society says the money will be put to good use.

"All the money we raise goes to support our in shelter hospital, so it covers everything from medical suppilies to surgeries to vaccines," she says. "It will go towards restocking medical supplies on a monthly basis, so itll be used basically right away."

Anton adds that without community support at events like Mutt Strutt it would be difficult to operate the shelter.

"Events are huge for us, and we're very fortunte that we do have such great community support. We had fantastic sponsors that helped us out, we had a great market place and vendors set up, and all the participants and donors as well that helped out is fantastic. We know its a tough economy for people so we really appreciate everybody's support."
