The Boys and Girls Club of Cochrane And Area (BGCCA) has become a staple in many young Cochranite's lives and even though the COVID-19 pandemic has closed down the physical space, they are offering many different resources digitally.

Maureen Topp, Manager of Licensed Programs for the BGCCA says they have been working hard to offer something new for the kids " We wanted to have an opportunity to survey parents and get their feedback to see what they're looking for, so that we're complementing what schools are doing, and not really doubling up."

"We're doing some guided meditation learning about coping skills for anxiety. We have Charlotte who's our program coordinator doing some time in the kitchen with kids making healthy snacks. We're adding stuff all the time from ideas from the kids,"

The Boys and Girls Club of Cochrane And Area also runs a teen space in town dubbed "The Club" which is also offering online programming for teens and youth.

Nola Hume is the Youth and Volunteer Program Coordinator for the BGCCA she says they are making sure they are helping teens with their school work and keeping them connected with their friends. "We are doing our Raise the Grade program virtually, so they can get tutoring help and help with studying, especially with exams being a little weird right now."

"We still have our outreach program happening so kids can still call or text, or we can arrange a one on one Zoom chat if they're needing support, just needing to reach out, if they're struggling at all."

You can check out the Boys and Girls Club of Cochrane And Area website for information on all their online programming.
