Some students and staff of Cochrane's Holy Spirit School will be spending their Easter in quarantine.

The Kindergarten to grade six Catholic School is reporting its first case of  COVID-19.

In a letter sent home to parents yesterday -  March 28, 2021, Holy Spirit's School Principal, Marnie Horton states that an individual at the school has tested positive for the virus.

For privacy reasons it hasn't been disclosed whether the affected individual is a teacher or a student.

Anyone who is believed to have had close contact with the individual has been provided additional information about the required 14-day isolation.

The Catholic School will break for Easter on Friday, April 2 with students scheduled to return to school on Monday, April 12.

Horton went on to say that the school community is "praying for the individual and their family during this time and wish them a quick recovery."
