Alberta continues to make progress in the province's fight against COVID-19.

Over the weekend the number of hospitalizations dropped to 360, and ICU admissions fell to 96. This marks the first time since April 16 that ICU admissions have been in the double digits.

Alberta's top doctor is hopeful as we move closer to Stage two of the province's 'Open for Summer' plan. Dr. Hinshaw took to Twitter over the weekend to remind Albertans to stay the course.

"This week we will be moving into the next stage of Alberta’s summer reopening plan," says Hinshaw. "Please continue to follow public health measures. Refrain from indoor gatherings, wear a mask in indoor spaces and stay home if you’re sick."

Over the past 24 hours, 231 new COVID-19 cases have been identified.

The Town of Cochrane has dropped to 14 active cases and Rocky View County has also reached a pivotal point, dropping to 48 active cases. It's the first time in months that the county has had fewer than 50 active cases of the virus.

Alberta's current active case count sits at 4, 884.
