Sundre man's trial in 1976 death set for next year
A trial will go ahead next year for a man accused of murdering a teenager nearly 50 years ago near Cochrane. Ronald James Edwards is charged with non-capital murder in the death of 16-year-old Pauline Brazeau. The teen's remains were discovered close to Cochrane on January 9, 1976. Prior to her death, the teenage mother had been spotted leaving a restaurant in Calgary just hours earlier. Bail was denied for the 73-year-old Sundre man. The trial will go ahead at the Calgary Court of King's Bench on March 8, 2025.
